Clearwater 1.5kg pH Minus is a simple and effective way to keep the pH levels of your spa or hot tub within the recommended boundaries, reducing alkalinity and producing a more comfortable swimming environment. It's the best way skin discomforts which can be caused by high pH levels. Maintaining the correct pH levels also enable chlorine to work more effectively at killing bacteria in the spa.
Your Lay-Z-Spa or hot tub pH levels should be kept between 7.2 and 7.6 (this can be tested using Clearwater Dip Test Strips.) When water pH levels clamber above 7.6, alkalinity increases and pH treatment is required. Anything and everything that enters a hot tub contains its own pH level which, quite naturally, alters the pH balance of your spa. Contaminants can include things such as falling leaves, trespassing bugs, dead skin, natural body oils, deodorants or moisturisers!
Using the pH reducer couldn't be easier. You can apply it directly to the hot tub (so long as the water temperature is over 20°C or alternatively by pre-diluting in a container of warm water before adding to the spa water.) After eight hours, pH levels should be checked again and decreased or increased until they fall within the bracket of 7.2 to 7.6.
If the pH level has fallen below 7.2 you should use Clearwater pH Plus to increase it to the correct level.
As with all chemical products, instructions and warnings included with the product should be carefully followed and heeded.
